40 Years and Growing
In 1973, my father, Dan Turrentine, retired after many years of running the Wine Advisory Board, which was a state marketing order dedicated to research and promotion of Californian wine. After two weeks of retirement, he said: “That was fun, but now what?” He decided to start a wine brokerage company to stay in touch with all of his wine business friends. Pretty soon, he made a 700,000 gallon sale and concluded that the brokerage business was fun.
